As a self-proclaimed Disney foodie and travel enthusiast, this festival holds a special place in my heart, especially when it comes to indulging in creative, delicious dishes from around the world.

Here’s a look at the highlights, including my personal favorites, must-try new menu items, and a few daring dishes I might just have to skip!

Personal Favorites Making a Return
- Wild Mushroom Risotto (Gourmet Landscapes, Canada): Creamy, earthy, and elevated with aged parmesan, truffle shavings, and a zinfandel reduction—this dish is a festival classic that I’m thrilled to see again.
- Mozzarella Fritta (L’Arte di Mangiare, Italy): Breaded fresh mozzarella, flash-fried to golden perfection, and served with a palette of dipping condiments. It’s crispy, gooey comfort food that never disappoints.

New Must-Try Dishes
I’m always eager to explore what’s new, and this year’s lineup does not disappoint! These dishes are at the top of my list:

Life has been a whirlwind lately. As moms, wife’s, full-time students (her completing her Bachelor’s in Business Admin & Law and myself finishing my Master’s in Law), full-time workers with additional part-time jobs, finding a moment to breathe seems almost impossible. But recently, my best friend, who also happens to be my coworker, and I decided to take a much-needed break and embark on a magical adventure to Disney.

It started with a random text LATE one night, I’m not sure which one of us was in tears this time from being completely overwhelmed and overstimulated (thanks ADHD). You see, both our spouses are gone for days at a time. Hers is a firefighter who pulls 24-48 shifts with overtime call. Mine took a job that requires traveling a few nights a week.

The Decision to Take a Break

Balancing work, studies, and motherhood can be overwhelming. The constant juggling act takes a toll on our mental health, leaving little room for self-care.

Recognizing the need to recharge, we planned a trip to Disney—a place where we could escape reality, even if just for a few days. I had this tripped planned in 15 mins. I knew she didn’t care where we went or what hotel we stayed in. I left going to parks up to her.

The Journey Begins

Traveling with someone who understands your hectic lifestyle makes the experience even more relaxing. We both agreed to leave our campus cell phones at home and UNPLUG. My best friend and I have a unique bond; we share the same struggles and triumphs, both at work and at home. As we

boarded the plane, excitement and relief washed over us. This trip was our chance to disconnect and not worry about what the kids wanted to do- it was what we wanted to do on our time.

Disney Magic

From the moment we entered the park, we felt a sense of wonder and joy. Disney has a way of making you feel like a kid again, and for us, it was the perfect antidote to our stress. We laughed, screamed on roller coasters, and indulged in our favorite treats. The sheer magic of Disney allowed us to forget our worries and embrace the present moment. We met princesses, people watched, swam, resort hopped, and watched fireworks.

Mental Health Benefits

This trip was more than just a vacation; it was a mental health retreat. The pressures of being moms, students, and professionals often leave us feeling

drained. Being at Disney gave us the mental space to breathe, laugh, and enjoy life without the weight of our daily responsibilities. We realized the importance of taking breaks, not just for fun, but for our mental well-being. We preach mental health in our work, so it was that much more important for us to have the break.

A Reminder for All

Our Disney trip was a reminder that taking time for ourselves is not selfish; it’s necessary. As moms, students, and professionals, we often prioritize everything else over our well-being. But to be our best selves for our families, our studies, and our jobs, we need to prioritize our mental health.

Traveling to Disney with my best friend was a magical and transformative experience. It reminded us of the importance of self-care and the power of

friendship. As we continue to juggle our many roles, we now have a cherished memory to look back on and a renewed commitment to take breaks and nurture our mental health and already trying to plan a couple trip ASAP!

So, if you’re feeling overwhelmed, remember to take a step back and plan that getaway. Your mind and soul will thank you for it.

We have all seen them-the traditional autograph books that are sold in the Disney Stores that have a cute picture on the front and tons of pages for character signatures. I still have mine from my first trip from 1994, the pages are yellowing and its been shoved in a drawer at my parents house since. The one my daughter picked out had the princesses on the cover. It now has black sharpie drawings because she got 'bored' and that was the only paper she could find (It's not like I don't work from home and have tons of paper around). Well, here is the thing.... what in the W O R L D are we going to do with that?

I mean really, where can this be displayed or carried that it won't get ruined by a 7 year old in-between trips? That is what got me thinking.... what E L S E can we use to capture autographs that can be enjoyed or seen, but not be a hassle to carry around in the parks?

Here are my first few thoughts:

Metal Water Bottle: Most of us use them daily, kids need them for school or practices, and if your at Disney hopefully you are hydrating walking through the parks in that Florida heat. Since you are carrying a water bottle into the park anyway, it is nothing extra to keep up with either! Win, Win- right? My choice would be a plain white one and a pack of colorful sharpie markers for the characters to use. You can find cheap bottles on Amazon or splurge and get a name-brand bottle if that is your preference. Personally, I carry my Stanley or Yeti everywhere. This is something that would keep me in my Disney bubble when I am out and about and can be used daily.*photo belongs to @agirlnamedkristin on Tik-Tok*

Photo Frame: Lets face it, you are going to be taking T O N S of pictures while you are on vacation. If you purchased the memory maker, then you will have photos from rides and from PhotoPass photographers at your favorite spots around the park. What better way to print your favorite photo from the trip and have the mat full of autographs hanging on your wall for everybody to see! If you don't want autographs- you could get cast members from World Showcase to write a word of your choice in their native language. Some ideas for words could be: hello, welcome home, happy or whatever means the most to you.

Golden Books: If I had to guess, we have 50+ Golden Books in our house right now, most of them being Disney related. If you don't, then you can find some at bookstores, Wal-Mart, Target, or Amazon. They are fairly inexpensive AND light. My thought would be to take the character books and have that character sign the inside of it. It would be a story for the storybook and promote reading for kiddos. Anything I can do to get my kid to read, I am down for.

Polaroid Snaps: I know, you are probably thinking... Do they even make those anymore? The answer is actually Y E S ! Last Christmas the Polaroid camera came back, retro style! We personally didn't buy the Polaroid version for our daughter, but we DID buy the FujiFilm version for her. It came in tons of different colors too. How this would work, take the photo of the character and whoever with it, and then get the character to sign the bottom. This is perfect if you are a scrapbooker or if you want some nostalgia in your life.

Popcorn Buckets: This would depend on which bucket is being offered at the park however, if its one that has space and not a ton of writing on it- it would work. People collect these, so what would be better than getting one that you love A N D have the signatures on them?!

Depending on what choice you choose, make sure you cure the item properly if needed. If something is plastic it may need modge podge or clear nail polish to seal. If it is ceramic- it may need to be baked.

Whatever you choose, should be important to Y O U and something you will cherish. What ideas do you have?

Imagine, the air is getting cool, school has started back, football season is in full swing, the leaves are changing- its Fall Y'all. If you are anything like me, fall is my J A M. My decorations went up the 2nd week of August and will slowly transition to Halloween by the end of this month.

Halloween at Disney is an experience like no other- especially if you are a halloween lover like myself. It is the L O N G E S T season of the year! The decorations go up in mid-august and stay up until park close on October 31. The Mickey pumpkin wreaths line Main Street in Magic Kingdom and you instantly morph into fall mode no matter how hot Orlando is that day.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

With all four of the Walt Disney Park decked out in fall decor, Magic Kingdom has a special after-hours ticketed event called, Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Guests can get into the park as early as 4pm dressed in their costumes and stay until midnight. Regular park guests leave at 6pm which means- L O W E R crowds. Not only that, there are special event foods offered, trick-or-treating, ride overlays, a special firework show & parade, and- VILLIANS! Characters are geared up in their fall attire and there are meet and greets spread throughout the park. Including- Jack & Sally.

My family just got back from the party last week and we enjoyed every minute of it and have more candy than we know what to do with! We didn't even hit all the trick or treat spots. The wait times for rides were low and Haunted Mansion had special 'guests' out front. I was able to try the buffalo chicken hand pie and it was worth every single minute I waited in that line. We didn't last until midnight- our normal 'bedtime' is 7pm and we did a regular park day before the party. WE WERE TIRED.

Dates are selling out quickly, with only a few nights left with availability. Do not hesitate to get your ticket!

Festive Foods

If you can't make the party, that is O K A Y! All four parks, resorts, and Disney Springs all have festive foods during this time of year. Epcot also has the Food and Wine Festival going on, so come hungry.

These lists could be forever long but I am highlighting some crowd and personal favorites.

Resorts:

- - - Art of Animation/Pop Century: The Whoopie Pie, apple & caramel whoopie pie with marshmallow buttercream.
    - Port Orleans French Quarter: Ghoulish Delight Beignets, three Mickey shaped beignets dusted with cookies & cream powdered sugar topped with marshmallow drizzle. (Chefs kiss)
    - Old Key West/Saratoga Springs: Mini Pumpkin, pumpkin mousse, caramel, dulce crunch, and chocolate décor.

Disney Springs:

- - - Amorette's Patisserie: Jack Skellington Éclair, pumpkin cream.
    - The Ganachery: Donald Candy Corn-Chocolate Piñata, white chocolate piñata filled with pumpkin spiced marshmallows and crips pearls.
    - Swirls on the Water: Haunted Mansion Cone, pistachio and purple cheesecake soft-serve swirled in a black vanilla cone with a Hitchhiking Ghosts chocolate medallion.

Hollywood Studios:

- - - ABC Commissary: Spiced Caramel Apple, fireball cinnamon whisky, apple cider, cranberry and salted caramel.
    - Dockside Diner: Mickey Mummy Cookie, mickey-shaped chocolate cookie with white chocolate mint frosting.
    - Hollywood Scoops: Candy Corn Milkshake, candy corn ice cream shake topped with a vanilla cake doughnut, whipped cream, spooky sprinkles, and candy corn.

Epcot:

- - - Regal Eagle Smokehouse: S'mores Brownie, with a pumpkin Mickey
