Something I Would Never Do at Walt Disney World Resort

As someone who lives in the Midwest, I have been to Walt Disney World 10 times since 2021. I used to Jam Pack my schedule to try to get it all done before heading home. I would almost always leave feeling unfulfilled and like I didn't do enough.

One thing I will NEVER do again is try to do everything the park has to offer.

Hear me out, I understand that not everyone goes multiple times in a few years, and for most it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

However, it is quite literally impossible to do everything at Walt Disney World. I always get asked why I keep going back. The simple answer is, there is still more to do. Disney is constantly updating, changing, and adding.  Even the most rides are different depending on where you are sitting in the attraction.

Here's what you should do instead of trying to do it all.

1: Make a must do list

This list contains 3-4 items each day. These items should be things you would be sad if you didn’t get to do.

(Something that is always on my must do list is Corndog Nuggets from Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom😬) Must do list example

2: Schedule off days

Walt Disney World is a very busy vacation. With an off day (or two) built in, you get to rest, utilize the resort you are paying for, and you can build in special dining experiences.

(Disney has multiple dining options that aren’t at their Theme Parks)

Visiting Disney Springs or the Character Warehouse at the Orlando Vineland Premium outlets is also a good way to spend a day off.

(An 'off day' is defined as a day not spent at a WDW theme park.)

3: Set realistic expectations

Once you realize everything will not be “perfect,” you will have a much better time. You will be less stressed and more focused on the moment. (Kids will cry, you will get tired, you will have to wait in some lines.)

Going into a Disney vacation with the expectation that everything will be magical ALL the time, is asking for a let down. Yes, it is SO magical, (why do you think it's my go to vacation spot??) but give yourself and the people you are with some grace.

Overall, focus on living in the moment and soaking up the magic. 🏰✨
