Last month my husband celebrated his 40th birthday. I love celebrating birthdays so I planned a fun weekend at Atelier Playa Mujeres. If you are not familiar with this adults-only/all-inclusive resort you need to put it on your radar. It's a beautiful resort located about 30 minutes north of Cancun.

Prior to this trip, my husband was not a big all-inclusive resort person. To be fair, he had only been to one resort. Years ago, he decided all-inclusive resorts were not his thing. However, he agreed to give it one more shot and visit Atelier for his birthday.

I'm happy to report, my husband very much enjoyed his time at Atelier.  We spent time at the beach, spa, sitting on our balcony and enjoying all the food/drinks. It was a great weekend to relax and celebrate.

I asked my husband what he liked about Atelier and he gave me a list. Here are a few of the things he liked about the resort.

1. Service. The service throughtout the resort was excellent. In our room, our fridge was not working. We made one call and within ten minutes the fridge was replaced with a new one. Also, my husband was never without a drink. He REALLY liked the beach service.


2. Food. We ate at four different restaurants. All were very good. We really enjoyed sitting at the sushi bar. The sushi maker and my husband became  friends.


3. Beach. We lounged at the beach every day. Although, we never got in the water we enjoyed the clean/safe beach.


4. Room. The bed was very comfortable. Sometimes the first night at a hotel is the worst. Not the case, we both slept great.


5. Birthday decorations. I paid for birthday decorates to be in our room. It was a nice surprise for my husband. It made him smile when we walked in our decorated room.

Recently, one of my sisters and I visited Dublin, Ireland. We spent five days exploring Dublin.

Unlike most Ireland trips, we did not venture out to different parts of the country. We stayed in Dublin and saw everything Dublin had to offer. We were not disappointed! There is so much to see and do just in Dublin. Here are just a few of things we did while in Dublin.

-Bike Tour through Dublin

-Went to Mass at Christ Church Cathedral

-Walked around the gardens at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral

-Guinness Storehouse Tour

-Visited Trinity College

-Learned about The Book of Kells

-Ate Fish-n-Chips and Beef Stew in a pub

-Viewed art at National Gallery of Ireland

-Enjoyed maroons at Ladure’e

-Spent the afternoon tasting delicious food at The Taste of Dublin

Although I recommend visiting other parts of Ireland; sometimes you can only visit one city. And you know what; that’s ok. It’s your vacation! The beauty of traveling is having the freedom to select what you see and do.

Ireland is a great destination for a first international trip. Ireland is a great destination for a seasoned traveler. Ireland is just a great destination. The Irish people are extremely friendly and the country’s beauty is something you do not want to miss. Trust me.

Recently, I went on a Girls Trip to Hilton Head Island, Georgia.  We had an absolute blast! Hilton Head Island is a great destination for everyone: families, couples, multigeneration trips, and girls trips.  There is so much to do on the island, no one will get bored! Besides the beach, there are golf courses, shopping, top rated restaurants, biking trails, fishing, and alligators. Yes, alligators!

My group stayed at The Westin Hilton Head Island. This beachfront hotel was perfect for my group of four. We stayed in a 2 queen room. We found the room to provide plenty of space., and comfortable beds. The hotel staff was friendly, service was top notch, and the views were breathtaking. I definitely recommend The Westin and Hilton Head Island for anyone looking for a beach vacation.

The lady in the middle is my good friend Tonya. We celebrated her birthday in St. Lucia. Doesn’t that sound fabulous? We hung out on the beach, lounged around the pool and ate delicious food.
